Information Assurance Vulnerability Manager - DoD 8570.1-M CND Auditor certification (i.e. GSNA, CISA, or CEH) and appropriate Operating System certification required

Lead and directly participate in activities traditionally associated with the DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) program. Primarily responsible for routine, Retina, VMS operations; assuring and tracking compliance with IAVM messages and JTF-GNO directives; and performing liaison with military health service (MHS) medical applications being serviced by the Network Security Operations Center (NSOC) Computer Network Defense Service Provider (CNDSP). Also register and maintain the compliance status of all operational network protection (NP) related hardware and software, including NPS components deployed to Service MTFs, the MHS Intranet, and other MHS data centers supported by TIMPO.

This position requires a Secret clearance at a minimum but may require Top Secret/SCI in the future.

Duties include establishing, configuring, performing operations and maintenance tasks, administering, and managing:
• Vulnerability Management Service (VMS) configuration, use, populating with Retina results, and report generation to support the IAVM program
Retina and REM Server and performing associated monthly and ad-hoc scans as required on the Network Protection Suites (NPS) and TIMPO owned and managed systems located in the MHS DMZs, MHS Intranet, or MHS Enclaves. Such scans and associated IAVM compliance reporting shall be tailored to meet the needs of the individual Program Management Office (PMO)
• Managing, disseminating, interpreting, and tracking compliance with IAVM associated messages including Alerts (IAVA), Bulletins (IAVB), and (IAVT) Technical Bulletins
• Testing available vendor provided patches or remediation procedures in the TIMPO IA lab for issues prior to implementation in the production environment. Documenting installation procedures and distributing these procedures to TIMPO sites and other POCs for their use
• Obtain from supported entities required security policy compliance documentation and artifacts; assess compliance with requirements; and develop Plans of Action and Milestone (POA&M) documentation for any TIMPO owned or managed assets that cannot be patched as necessary to achieve IAVM compliance
• Implement a DoD IAVM program utilizing risk management principals
• Assume responsibility for the NSOC’s execution of the DoD IAVM program and oversee and direct the activities for a team of support analysts
• Maintain existing standard operational procedure (SOP) documents and draft new SOPs as necessary

• Strategic Communications experience is a plus

• Must also be capable of using a Pashto and/or Dari keyboard in conjunction with their duties

• Possess excellent writing skill sets, in English, Pashto and/or Dari, and other applicable Afghan languages or dialects spoken where assigned

• Willing and able to conduct real-time, accurate and concise oral interpretations of conversations

• Be able and willing to translate documents as necessary

• Must be willing to work field assignments as necessary

Candidates must hold an active Interim Secret clearance or above.
