Develop and produce integrated, contextual analysis and resolve analytical issues in support of nuclear deterrence. Position Description The individuals will work with the department faculty and the UAV research team members on a number of UAV projects. In particular, we are looking for researchers/engineers who will contribute toward our efforts in developing (1) UAV sensor networks, (2) communication networks for robust, reliable UAV communication, and (3) heterogeneous UAV hardware platforms. In addition, the individuals will be responsible to assist in cadet senior design projects. The team requires two software engineers and two hardware engineers to assist in performance of software updates and software development for UAV ground stations, UAV onboard computers, ground sensor modules, unmanned service vehicles’ onboard computers, and the UAV ground database system. Positions will also cooperate with senior engineers to perform UAV demonstrations and establish SOP for UAS Center as required.
Desired Skills / Experience The post-doc candidates should have a strong background in one of the following research areas:
• linear and nonlinear control
• sensor technologies
• networking/communications, or signals and systems.
• Strong background in software development skills and/or embedded systems.

LGS is seeking 2 - 3 field service engineers to become key members of our growing Technical Service Centers (TSC)... The individual selected for this position will be based at the Technical Service Center (TSC) in Columbia, MD and will be deployed in an overseas location on a rotational basis. After initial training and orientation the field engineer will be deployed directly to the Forward Technical Services Center (FTSC). Successful applicants will perform two primary functions: Technical Support of Wireless Communications systems and oversee the operation of the FTSC when deployed.

Primary responsibilities include: provide the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of the wireless communication product portfolio and 3rd party vendor(s) equipment. Perform tests and implement scheduled HW and SW upgrades as required. Be cross trained on the various platforms, software, and GUIs. When deployed the in country technical services support rotation will be a 24 x 7 operation. Daily office hours will vary as needed to support customers and systems in the field

The Technical Services Support role is best suited for an engineer who has experience testing and maintaining complex cellular wireless communications systems. Experience with using HW and SW tools is required when troubleshooting and calibrating systems. Knowledge of CDMA, UMTS, GSM and other wireless protocols is a plus.

Direct contact with both internal and external customers and vendors will be required. Training development and delivery would also be a plus. The candidate is expected to perform some general administrative duties and on occasion travel locally when not forward deployed

The candidate should have experience using MS Office Suite of programs. When forward deployed and when at the Columbia facility all personnel are required to be aware and use Govt Property Management procedures to accept, ship, and track all equipment coming into and leaving these facilities
This is a technical support position that will entail working at an overseas location; the forward technical services center is a rotational assignment of approximately 4 months in duration; willingness to be deployed to other worldwide locations may also be required on an as needed basis.

• BS Degree in EE/Computer Science or 5 years of experience in a related field. Years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement

Brief Description: IT Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Engineer to support the JRDC program in Dahlgren, VA.
Complete Description: The Dahlgren IT O&M Engineer, working with Regional Crews and Sustainment Engineers and in coordination with the Architects and other engineering entities, will create a set of criteria that will meet the needs for transitioning from each phase of the ITIL lifecycle. The engineer will perform operational engineering bringing about a more stable, sustainable, operable and maintainable IT environment. This will be accomplished through proactive operational engineering analysis and close coordination with the Event Management team working to discover root cause for known issues. The O&M Engineer will perform design reviews and ensure artifact deliverables meet the criteria set out in the Engineering Lifecycle and adhere to the Change Management processes. The O&M Engineer will collaborate with the Tier IV crews to develop best practices and refine daily battle rhythms. Additionally, this position will perform regular audits of crew activities ensuring routine maintenance and processes are adhered to and the health of the systems is sound. The O&M Engineer will participate in Root-cause analysis during system outage, develop designs to existing systems that do not change form, fit or function and make architectural design change recommendations to the IT Architecture team when necessity dictates. The O&M Engineer will identify service improvement opportunities through proactive/trend analysis and update the Remedy Knowledge database updates as well as inputting Knowledge Articles for reference by crews to enable quick resolution of infrastructure issues.

CAD Specialist/Technician: Shall be intimately familiar with all associated military standards and any associated/related industry specifications and standards. Also, a good understanding of military Configuration Management standard/specifications/practices and any associated/related industry specifications and standards is required. As a minimum, a BS degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited school is required. A minimum of eight (8) years experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Must be competent in Computer Aided Design/Drafting, design and graphic skills, and must possess a minimum of four (4) years Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience of which at least two (2) years of the experience must be with Pro/Engineer.
